MTCIT and CAA launch strategic programme for advanced air mobility trials in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT), in partnership with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), has launched the Strategic Programme for Advanced Air Mobility Demonstrations and Live Trials, inviting local and international companies and institutions to participate in Oman’s national regulatory sandbox.

The programme provides a safe and controlled testing environment for evaluating technologies and solutions related to future aviation, logistics support, and urban, agricultural and healthcare services.

The initiative targets a range of participants, including operators, manufacturers, technology providers, research institutions and industry alliances, with the aim of testing innovative solutions and assessing their potential applications in real-world settings.

The ministry has invited interested parties to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) to participate in the programme.The Advanced Air Mobility Demonstrations and Live Trials Week is scheduled to take place from Dec. 6 to 10, 2026, with the main event scheduled for Dec. 8-9.

The programme forms part of efforts to create an enabling environment for testing emerging aviation technologies and explore their applications across various economic and service sectors in Oman.
