Muscat: Following the rigorous selection of 35 high-calibre executives by a globally-reputed independent HR consultancy, the National CEO Programme (NCP) has launched its second learning journey.
On its mission to build the capabilities of world-class Omani CEOs, the NCP’s second annual intake has embarked upon an 11-day placement at the International Institute of Management Development (IMD), one of the world’s premier business schools in Lausanne, Switzerland.
As programme partner of NCP, IMD will deliver its opening module on the topic of “Leadership and Innovation.”
“Tapping into the potential of the nation’s leading business talent is the key to generating an increasingly competitive and sustainable contribution from the Omani private sector, and thus enhancing our economic performance on a global scale,” said Dr Khamis bin Saud Al Tobi, acting director general of the Institute of Capability Development at the Diwan of Royal Court, said.
NCP’s first module will focus on identifying global trends and how Oman’s future CEOs put their personal leadership into practice to enhance business performance. Balancing theory with operational prudence, participants will cover a broad range of executive topics under the theme of “Leadership and Innovation.”
This will give each individual the space to develop their full leadership potential to compete at the global level.
Strategic mission
Dr Khamis bin Saud Al Tobi added, “The launch of Module 1 marks a milestone in our strategic mission to drive leadership, innovation and marketing as the three key fundamentals of globally competitive business; all of which are of great importance to Oman as an emerging economy. As the NCP transforms individuals, companies and key sectors of the Omani economy, we will see the impact of the program filter down from our talented future CEOs, as their leadership potential inspires development across the national workforce.”
The NCP’s initial group comprised of 30 executives, representing small, medium and large-scale enterprises in sectors of economic importance. As NCP alumni they have quickly showcased their sharpened business acumen by delivering project proposals of national significance.
These ‘live breakthrough projects’ from the first group of the NCP promises strong economic returns and has already generated a high level of interest from foreign investment funds.
NCP’s second cohort will continue this success by focusing on their own “live breakthrough projects,” which will be of critical importance to the key strategic sectors of Oman’s economy today.
Throughout the programme, participants will benefit from cutting-edge business insights, combined with experiential learning, one-to-one team leadership coaching and live project management.
The NCP’s unique approach is steadily growing a community of Omani CEOs capable of delivering world-class performances for Oman in the global economy.
