The Economic Complexity Index is one of the international indicators that measure the diversity and sophistication of economies' productive capabilities, based on the nature of the products they manufacture and export, and the accumulated knowledge, skills, and capabilities these products require.
The index provides a reading of the level of development of an economy's productive structure and its capacity to transition toward producing and exporting more diverse, complex, and value-added products, reflecting the level of knowledge and productive capabilities available in the national economy.
