
Salalah: Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman paid a visit on Wednesday to the Omani Women's Association in Salalah, as part of her continued commitment to supporting the contributions of Omani women to the development process and community work.
Upon Her Highness's arrival, she was received by His Highness Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, Noor Hassan Al Ghassani, Chairperson of the Omani Women's Association in Salalah and the Chairpersons of Omani Women's Associations in Dhofar Governorate.
During her tour of the association premises, the Honourable Lady viewed the Omani women's associations gathering in Dhofar Governorate, which included the Heritage House featuring models of traditional crafts and women's handicrafts that reflect the richness of Dhofar's folk heritage, alongside efforts being made to preserve and develop it and transform it into products of economic and social value.
Her Highness's tour also included the exhibition hall, which featured pavilions for the Omani Women's Associations in Dhofar Governorate. The association chairpersons presented initiatives, voluntary and community achievements, and women's projects. The Honourable Lady also acquainted herself with the ideas and experiences embodied in these initiatives, which reflect the spirit of initiative and social responsibility among the women of the governorate.
At the conclusion of the visit, Her Highness the Honourable Lady inscribed a commemorative entry marking the occasion, in which she expressed her appreciation for the efforts exerted by the associations, commending the diversity of programmes and projects, the attention paid to heritage, and the effective contribution to serving women and society.
