Salalah: The Food Security Forum and Exhibition 2026 will be held in the Wilayat of Salalah on Monday, August 10, as part of Oman’s efforts to strengthen food security, attract investment and promote sustainable growth in the agricultural and food sectors.
Organised by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in Dhofar Governorate, in cooperation with the Office of the Governor of Dhofar and the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources, the forum will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.
The event aims to support the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, particularly economic diversification and sustainability, while bringing together decision-makers, investors, entrepreneurs, specialists and representatives of public and private sector institutions.
The accompanying exhibition will be held at the Atin Plain from August 11 to 15, featuring around 100 exhibitors representing companies, institutions and projects working in agriculture, livestock, fisheries, food industries, modern agricultural technologies, logistics, finance and investment.
The forum’s programme includes specialised working papers addressing food security indicators and achievements, usufruct laws, investment-support services through the “Tatweer” platform and investment opportunities under the “Invest in Oman” initiative.
Other sessions will focus on the development of Najd, financing solutions for agricultural projects, the proposed Najd Agricultural City and the role of modern technologies in sustainable food supply chains, transportation and food security.
The forum will focus on promoting investment across food security sectors, developing economic diversification enablers and increasing local content by attracting and localising quality projects based on innovation and modern agricultural and food technologies.
Naif bin Hamed Fadel, Chairman of the OCCI branch in Dhofar, said the event represents a strategic step towards strengthening public-private sector partnerships and enabling private-sector institutions to contribute to Oman’s economic diversification goals.
He stressed that achieving food sustainability requires integrated national efforts and an attractive investment environment capable of transforming Oman’s resources into productive, value-added projects.
The forum will also witness the signing of usufruct contracts in cooperation with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning to support agricultural and food investments and facilitate value-added projects.
The event will conclude with an open dialogue bringing together specialists and decision-makers to discuss key challenges and future opportunities in Oman’s food security sector.
