Oman's Foreign Minister meets Philippine Minister of Foreign Affairs

Muscat: His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign , met with Her Excellency Maria Teresa Lázaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, on the sidelines of the third Oman-Philippines Forum. 

During the meeting, they reviewed the friendly relations and cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of the Philippines and discussed ways to enhance bilateral partnership in various areas of mutual interest, contributing to the shared interests of the two friendly countries.

Both sides emphasised the importance of the Oman-Philippines Forum as a strategic platform that promotes institutional dialogue and opens new horizons for cooperation between the two governments, the private sector, and academic institutions. This supports partnerships in trade, investment, logistics, tourism, energy, and technology, aligning with the aspirations of both countries for sustainable and inclusive development. 

The two sides also commended the continuous development of bilateral relations, affirming that mutual trust and human ties, particularly the contributions of the Filipino community in the Sultanate of Oman, are fundamental pillars for deepening and expanding cooperation in the coming period. 

 The two ministers also discussed the latest regional and international developments and exchanged views on diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening security, stability, and peace. They emphasized the importance of continued coordination and cooperation to ensure the free and safe flow of navigation and supply chains along maritime and trade routes.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Engineer Nasser bin Said Al Manwari, the Sultanate of Oman's Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, and several officials from both sides.
