
Paris: President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic received His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today at the Élysée Palace in the French capital, Paris. President Macron welcomed His Majesty the Sultan and his accompanying delegation as esteemed guests of the French Republic.
Upon His Majesty's arrival at the forecourt of the French Republican Palace, the Guard of Honour gave a military salute to His Majesty, while martial musical pieces were performed. His Majesty then proceeded to inspect the Guard of Honour.
Thereafter, His Majesty the Sultan shook hands with senior French dignitaries present to receive him, while the French President shook hands with the members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty.
Afterward, commemorative gifts were exchanged between His Majesty the Sultan and the French President, followed by a commemorative photograph to mark the occasion of the visit.
His Majesty the Sultan and the French President then held a bilateral meeting, during which they discussed a range of political and economic issues and files of mutual interest to both countries. The meeting also addressed the most significant current developments and evolving situations on the regional and international arenas, as well as their implications across various levels.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of deepening bilateral cooperation and expanding the horizons of the strategic partnership between their countries, through greater investment flows, increased economic and commercial exchange and the exploring new avenues for collaboration—thereby fostering sustainable economic development and realizing their mutual interests.
