Oman coordinates with IMO to make available a temporary maritime corridor for all vessels

Muscat: In recognition of the Sultanate of Oman's responsibility towards the Strait of Hormuz and its strategic importance to the global economy, and in keeping with its unwavering commitment to international law and the law of the sea, which uphold the freedom of navigation through the Strait without the imposition of transit fees.

The decision has been taken in alignment with the outcomes of the efforts and understandings reached between the United States and Iran.

Oman has coordinated with the International Maritime Organization to make available a temporary maritime corridor for all vessels, in accordance with the coordinates announced by the IMO and the competent Omani authorities.

Vessels wishing to transit through the corridor are required to coordinate with the IMO.
