A’Rustaq: The activities of the South Al Batinah Summer 2026 forum commenced on Sunday in South Al Batinah Governorate.
Organised by the Office of the Governor of South Al Batinah in cooperation with the Department of Culture, Sports and Youth in the governorate, the forum will run until 2 July, targeting more than 1,000 male and female participants from various wilayats of the governorate.
The forum aims to utilise the summer vacation for human development and building the capacities of children and youth through qualitative programmes that combine education, training, and practical experience. These programmes contribute to preparing a generation equipped with future skills to keep pace with rapid developments in the fields of knowledge and innovation.
The forum targets two age groups: the first comprises children and youngsters aged 8 to 12, while the second targets youth aged 13 to 16, with 500 participants allocated for each category. The program is based on three main pillars: creativity, communication, and impact, aiming to enhance community participation and consolidate concepts of personal development and initiative building.
The forum is being held across a number of educational and sports locations and facilities in various wilayats of the governorate, including Al Shabab Club, A’Rustaq Club, Nakhal Club, Al Musannah Club, Al Awabi Sports Centre, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Al Musannah, and the College of Education in A’Rustaq. This ensures a balanced distribution of programmes and provides specialised learning and training environments.
The forum offers a diverse package of specialised programmes and workshops in the fields of technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, culture, heritage, and sports, alongside exploratory and awareness activities, catering to the diverse interests of the targeted age groups.
Under the technology and innovation pillar, the forum includes specialised programmes in Python programming, prompt engineering for artificial intelligence systems, 3D printing, the "AI Pioneers" programme, and a robot assembly workshop, in addition to digital courses conducted in partnership with academic institutions and sports clubs in the governorate.
Furthermore, the forum features cultural, artistic, and value-oriented programmes that contribute to character building and reinforcing national identity, alongside sports and exploratory programmes within the "Sports Summer" framework, as well as awareness programmes in safety and first aid.
