Muscat: An Oman Air flight from Iran was delayed after another plane clipped the aircraft's wing on the ground at Teheran Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran.
Mahan Air Airbus 310 collided this morning with Oman Air WY432, a Boeing 737, and clipped its wings while it was taxiing.
Oman Air released a statement saying, “The wings of the stationary Oman Air aircraft were clipped by another airline as it passed. No one was hurt nor at risk.”
Oman Air said that the aircraft will be delayed until inspections from Oman Air’s engineering team declare the aircraft fit to fly.
“Passengers have been informed and arrangements are currently being made to either provide accommodation in Tehran or to find an alternative flight,” said Oman Air.
“We apologise for the delay and resulting inconvenience, but our over-riding priority is the safety of all our passengers and crew. We are grateful for the patience and understanding shown by the affected passengers and we look forward to seeing them continue their journeys at the earliest opportunity,” added Oman Air.
