German Ambassador Visits MCBS and Meets Students Participating in Cultural Exchange Program to Munich

Muscat:  The Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) had the honor of welcoming His Excellency Dirk Lölke, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Sultanate of Oman, to its campus on 21 May 2026.

The visit was organized as part of MCBS’s ongoing efforts to promote international engagement and intercultural learning opportunities for its students. During the visit, His Excellency met with a group of MCBS students who will be traveling to Munich, Germany, during June as part of the College’s cultural exchange and international exposure initiatives.

Addressing the students, Ambassador Lölke provided valuable insights into the strong and longstanding relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Germany. He highlighted the importance of cultural understanding, international cooperation, and global citizenship in today’s interconnected world. The session also featured an engaging discussion during which students had the opportunity to ask questions about Germany, its culture, education system, society, and contemporary developments.

The student visit to Munich aims to broaden participants’ horizons and provide them with meaningful international experiences that contribute to the development of key MCBS graduate attributes, including global citizenship, intercultural understanding, respect for diversity, adaptability, and effective engagement in multicultural environments.

In addition to students, the meeting was attended by Dr. Moosa Al-Kindi, Dean of MCBS; Dr. Said Al-Kitani, Associate Dean for Community Engagement; and Ms. Kawthar Al-Harthi, Director of International Relations and Global Engagement.

During the visit, the MCBS leadership briefed His Excellency on the College’s academic programs, institutional achievements, strategic priorities, and future aspirations. Discussions also explored potential avenues for collaboration between MCBS and German higher education institutions, particularly in areas related to student mobility, academic partnerships, research collaboration, and intercultural exchange.

Dr. Moosa Al-Kindi expressed his appreciation for the Ambassador’s visit and his engagement with students, noting that such interactions enrich students’ learning experiences and reinforce MCBS’s commitment to preparing graduates who are equipped to thrive in a globalized world.

The visit concluded with a tour of MCBS facilities, during which Ambassador Lölke was introduced to the College’s learning environment and ongoing developments across its academic and student support infrastructure.

This visit reflects MCBS’s continued dedication to fostering international partnerships and creating transformative learning opportunities that prepare students to become active and responsible global citizens.
