Al Buraimi: The Ministry of Health on Monday launched the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Clinic at Al Buraimi Hospital. This initiative is part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance specialised services and expand the scope of healthcare provided in governorate hospitals.
The gastroenterology and endoscopy service is a modern specialised service newly introduced to the hospital. Previously, patients requiring such medical care were referred to Sohar Hospital and the Royal Hospital.
The launch of this service aligns with the Ministry of Health's policy to support decentralisation in healthcare delivery. It facilitates patient access to specialised care near their places of residence, thereby contributing to reduced medical referrals and improved quality of healthcare services provided to the community.
Since the service began operating in January 2026, the hospital has successfully performed over 110 endoscopy procedures. This achievement reflects the readiness of medical and technical staff and enhances the efficiency of diagnostic and therapeutic services offered at the hospital.
The inauguration was held under the patronage of Dr. Said Hareb Al Lamki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs.
