Al Buraimi--- Al Buraimi Governorate organized its 2026 media briefing today under the theme "Al Buraimi Accomplishes" at the Al Salam Grand Resort in the Wilayat of Al Buraimi.

Held for the second consecutive year, the event is part of the governorate’s efforts to strengthen communication with the media and review its most prominent achievements and developmental projects.

During the meeting, a visual presentation was delivered on the developmental trajectory of the governorate, including general performance indicators and major projects implemented across various sectors, as well as upcoming priorities and directions aligned with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

The briefing reviewed key performance indicators, noting that the governorate achieved a 100 percent completion rate in several Oman Vision 2040 targets during 2025. Improvements were recorded in various indicators, including an increase in the digital transformation index from 73 percent in 2024 to 83 percent in 2025, alongside the implementation of integration processes with national platforms. The institutional performance index rose to 81 percent compared to 75 percent, while the institutional excellence assessment reached 90 percent.

The total number of projects in the governorate reached 112, with a total estimated value of RO 29.5 million. These were distributed between 88 service projects and 24 infrastructure projects, with an overall completion rate of 88 percent. Furthermore, the value of development projects awarded in the infrastructure sector exceeded RO 12 million.

In the telecommunications and postal sector, the governorate witnessed significant development in coverage and digital infrastructure indicators. The fiber optic coverage rate for residential units reached 79 percent, compared to 71 percent, while 5G network coverage rose to 93 percent from 86 percent. Fixed broadband coverage for schools reached a completion rate of 100 percent. The number of 5G stations increased to 152, telecommunications stations to 358, and fiber optic connections reached 30,000. Additionally, the number of postal branches and access points increased to 18 locations, reflecting the accelerated pace of digital transformation and improved service quality.

The briefing addressed several strategic projects, most notably the Economic Zone in Al Rawdah and the "Hafeet Rail" railway network project, alongside urban landscape development projects such as the Al Buraimi Oasis (City Center), the Crystal Lake project, and internal road development projects.

In the digital transformation sector, 2,805 digital transactions were completed, 25 services were digitized, and specialized services were provided for investors and employees. The "Tajawob" platform recorded 882 transactions with a completion rate of 98.8 percent.

In the investment sector, 23 investment contracts were signed with an investment volume of approximately RO 12 million. These covered various economic sectors, led by the commercial sector at 38 percent, followed by the service sector at 24 percent, and the industrial and mining sector at 21 percent.

In line with efforts to empower national cadres, the total number of Omani employees participating in the implementation of projects and contracts in the governorate during 2025 and 2026 reached approximately 166, an indicator reflecting growing employment opportunities and the enhanced presence of national talent.

Regarding tourism, the governorate organized 13 events in 2025, attracting more than 375,400 visitors. these events stimulated economic activity, enhanced tourism attraction, and supported small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The briefing included an interactive discussion session during which media and social media representatives raised questions regarding services and developmental projects in the governorate.

Sayyid Dr. Hamad Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi, emphasized the role of the media as an active partner in highlighting developmental achievements.

He stated that the government is proceeding with its projects and plans based on a vision focused on improving service quality and performance efficiency.

Al Busaidi noted that the governorate is witnessing growing economic momentum reflected in higher market value and purchasing power indicators, enhancing its attractiveness as a stimulating environment for investment.

He also lauded the positive role of the community, particularly the youth, in supporting the development process and contributing to the march of work and production. He added that the governorate aims to consolidate integrated developmental roles for each wilayat, enhance investment, accelerate digital transformation, and develop infrastructure and the urban landscape to support sustainable development.
