Heavy rains and overflow of wadis reported in Al Mudhaibi

Al Mudhaibi: The Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate witnessed heavy rainfall today, accompanied by strong winds, leading to widespread flow of valleys with intense and torrential currents due to the ongoing weather conditions affecting several parts of the Sultanate of Oman.

The center of the wilayat and its surrounding villages experienced significant rainfall, causing the valleys of Al-Malah, Al-Lathli, Buhsiyah, and Al-Salil to flow, in addition to Wadi Al-Masila in the town center and other interconnected valleys extending toward the southern villages.

In the Samad Al Shaan area and its villages, heavy rains and strong winds led to the flow of several valleys, including Al-Wariya, Baad, Al-Ram, Andam, Al-Suwairij, Dhaadha, Al-Rawda, as well as Wadi Samad Al Shaan and Al-Bathaa.

The rainfall caused damage, including temporary road closures between villages. These roads were gradually reopened after clearing debris carried by the flowing valleys. Power outages were also reported in some villages affected by the flooding.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources, Al Mudhaibi recorded a total rainfall of 225 mm during the period from March 20 to 27.
