Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued a public safety advisory urging residents across the Sultanate of Oman to take precautionary measures as heavy rainfall continues to affect several governorates.

In a statement, ROP emphasised that public safety is the top priority and called on both citizens and residents to strictly follow safety guidelines to avoid potential risks.

The advisory specifically warns against entering valley channels (wadis) or approaching water bodies, as rising water levels and strong currents pose a serious danger to life. Parents have also been urged to supervise their children closely and prevent them from playing near flooded areas or the edges of wadis.

Furthermore, the police recommended staying indoors and avoiding unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rain. They highlighted the importance of minimising exposure to hazardous conditions and staying informed through official weather updates to ensure everyone’s safety.
