Muscat,– The Public Prosecution (Oman) has commended citizens and residents in the Sultanate of Oman for their sense of responsibility and respect for laws and regulations, which contributes to maintaining public order and strengthening security and social stability.
In a statement issued today, the Public Prosecution stressed the importance of adhering to applicable laws and regulations to preserve public peace and ensure the safety of citizens and residents. It urged everyone to refrain from practices that may disrupt public order, disturb others, or endanger their safety.
The statement noted that authorities have recently observed some individuals using firecrackers (fireworks), particularly in residential neighbourhoods. It also highlighted the installation of non-compliant sound exhaust systems in vehicles and their use on roads, which results in loud and alarming noises that disturb residents.
According to the Public Prosecution, such acts violate Article (25) of the Weapons and Ammunition Law, as well as Article (49), Clauses (5) and (7) of the Traffic Law.
The Public Prosecution affirmed its commitment to taking firm legal action against violators, referring them to justice and seeking the strictest penalties stipulated by law.
