
Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister held a meeting on Wednesday with the Head of the Government Communication and Performance Development Unit, along with the Editors-in-Chief of Oman News Agency, local newspapers and Omani radio stations.
During the meeting, the latest regional developments were reviewed, with emphasis on the importance of addressing them with honesty, objectivity, a high degree of professionalism and a sense of responsibility, consistent with Oman's established and commendable approach.
Sayyid Badr underscored, during the meeting, the significant national role undertaken by media outlets in conveying facts and analyzing unfolding events. He expressed his appreciation for the balanced media discourse and conveyed his pride in Omani media professionals for their confident and capable coverage of events—without offending any party, resorting to exaggeration, or showing negligence—thereby contributing to the reinforcement of public awareness, the promotion of reassurance, the dissemination of the values of professional responsibility, and the safeguarding of national interests.
He also highlighted the importance of continued coordination and communication between official entities and media institutions to ensure the flow of reliable information and facilitate the presentation of sound media content that reflects the positions, orientations, and principles of the Sultanate of Oman—principles rooted in human values, noble conduct, and goodwill toward all.
The meeting addressed the pivotal importance embodied by Gulf solidarity in light of current developments, affirming the deep-rooted bonds and convergent visions among the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) regarding regional challenges, as well as their shared commitment to enhancing coordination and consultation in a manner that contributes to preserving the region's security and stability and safeguarding the interests of its peoples.
