Muscat: First and business class passengers of Oman Air will now be able to read their favourite magazines and newspapers using Media Box, a web-based platform created by Media Carrier.
Passengers will be able to compile their own personal on-board reading material from a cornucopia of international magazines and an extensive range of daily newspapers.
The Media Box is a web-based platform that supports any internet enabled device, Smartphone or tablet. While in the lounge, passengers can download their chosen reading material by entering their name and flight number.
The material will be presented in the same layout as the print version and can be browsed easily and intuitively, according to Oman Air.
Abdulaziz Al Raisi, Executive Vice President of Products and Brand Development – Oman Air, said, “Oman Air is committed to continuously find new ways to surprise and delight our customers, increase convenience and make passenger experience even more enjoyable. We are, therefore, excited to have appointed the Media Box to deliver digital media services for customers in our premium lounges at the Muscat International Airport.”
Apart from it being a new service offered by the national flag carrier, the ePaper media library is also used as a tool for the airline. By using an analysis of the download, they will be able to track the media that is favoured by individual passenger groups.
This would enable Oman Air to create a more targeted service in the near future.
