Foreign Minister meets US Vice President in Washington
Washington:  Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, convened with J.D. Vance, Vice President of the United States of America, at the White House in Washington.
At the meeting, the Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to President Donald Trump of the United States of America, and to the Vice President, along with His Majesty's aspirations for their well-being, and for the American people continued advancement and prosperity, and for Omani-American relations sustained growth and fruitful collaboration.
In turn, the US Vice President asked the Foreign Minister to convey the greetings and esteem of the US President to His Majesty the Sultan, expressing wishes for His Majesty's continued success and judicious leadership, for the Omani people continued progress and prosperity, and for the relations between the two nations further progress and prosperity.
The meeting further underscored the profound bonds of friendship and the historic, strategic relations uniting the Sultanate of Oman and the United States of America, affirming both nations' commitment to perpetuating their enhancement and development across diverse domains, thereby yielding augmented benefits and mutual interests for the two countries and their peoples, and deepening these ties in a manner that buttresses the pillars of security and stability within the region.
Subsequently, the two sides examined the indirect US-Iran negotiations sponsored by the Sultanate of Oman, alongside the diplomatic endeavors seeking to culminate in a just and enduring agreement concerning the nuclear file and to guarantee the peaceful character of Iran's nuclear energy program.
The Foreign Minister elucidated that the negotiations have thus far yielded substantial, momentous, and unparalleled progress, which could constitute the cornerstone of the envisioned agreement.
The minister expressed his profound appreciation for the earnest efforts exerted by the parties participating in these negotiations, and for the innovative and constructive ideas and propositions they have engendered thus far, which have served to narrow divergences and align perspectives in pursuit of an honorable agreement. He made particular mention of the US President's Envoy, Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr.
Abbas Araghchi. He simultaneously affirmed the Sultanate of Oman's steadfast commitment to sustaining its endeavors in support of dialogue and the facilitation of rapprochement among the concerned parties, proceeding from its abiding conviction that diplomacy and dialogue hold the key to inspired solutions for all outstanding issues.
For his part, the US Vice President lauded the responsible role assumed by the Sultanate of Oman, its tangible endeavors throughout the region, extolling its mediatory pursuits in sponsoring negotiations and facilitating dialogue, and expressing appreciation for its contribution to fostering greater understanding and addressing regional issues through diplomatic channels.
The meeting was attended by Talal bin Sulaiman Al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United States of America and officials from both sides.
