Muscat: The Oman Charitable Organisation has implemented an initiative to distribute 40,000 “Iftar Saem” meal vouchers worth over OMR 1.2 million across various governorates and wilayats of the Sultanate of Oman, as part of its Ramadan programs aimed at strengthening social solidarity and supporting Omani families during the holy month of Ramadan.
Badr bin Mohammed Al Zaabi, Acting CEO of the organization, stated that the initiative comes within the organization’s ongoing efforts to assist eligible families during the holy month. He explained that the vouchers are delivered to the Walis, who chair the Social Development Committees in the wilayats, so that the relevant authorities can distribute them to beneficiaries according to approved mechanisms.
Al Zaabi added that the total cost of the vouchers exceeded OMR 1.2 million, affirming that the organization continues to implement its programs in coordination with relevant entities to maximize the social impact of its initiatives and support community stability across Oman.
According to the 2025 final report, the Oman Charitable Organisation provided extensive humanitarian assistance inside the Sultanate, with total support exceeding OMR 5,350,756. The figures reflect the organization’s continued commitment to strengthening social protection and improving living conditions for vulnerable groups across Oman.
The Orphan Care Program received the largest share of funding, amounting to OMR 1,623,165, underscoring the organization’s priority to ensure long-term welfare, education, and stability for orphaned children. Close behind, Food Assistance Programs totaled OMR 1,217,130, highlighting efforts to support families with essential daily needs and enhance food security across different governorates.
Financial empowerment also remained a key focus, with the Cash Assistance Program reaching OMR 1,215,634, providing direct financial support to eligible families. Meanwhile, the Housing Program recorded OMR 551,575, helping improve living conditions and provide safe housing for beneficiaries.
In the social development sectors, the Educational Support Program amounted to OMR 371,344, reflecting investment in students and human capital development. The Medical Treatment Program totaled OMR 236,983, supporting patients in need of specialized healthcare services. Additionally, the Internal Relief Program accounted for OMR 134,924, directed toward urgent humanitarian cases and emergency assistance within the country.
Overall, the distribution of funds demonstrates a balanced humanitarian strategy combining immediate relief with long-term social investment, reinforcing the organization’s role in promoting stability and social cohesion across Oman.
