This included following up on the outcomes of the Strategic Dialogue Team and the Joint Working Group, and accomplishing the programs and work tracks previously agreed upon by both sides, in a bid to serve common interests and broaden the prospects of bilateral cooperation.

This came during a meeting held in London on Monday between Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and Yvette Cooper, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom (UK).

On the level of regional issues, the two sides exchanged viewpoints on a number of developments of mutual interest, including the situations in Yemen, Sudan, and Iran.

They also discussed developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip and the need to redouble humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering faced by the population in the Strip, in addition to intensifying international efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire, supporting reconstruction endeavors, and reviving the peace process in accordance with the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Regarding the Iranian nuclear file, the two ministers affirmed the importance of creating conditions conducive to reviving the diplomatic track and resuming negotiations in a way that contributes to reducing regional tensions, enhances security and stability in the region, and spares it the risks of escalation and conflicts.
