
Muscat: The Muttrah Cable Car project, one of Oman’s most anticipated tourism and infrastructure developments, is progressing steadily and is expected to be completed in the *first quarter of 2026*, according to an official from the executing company, Sabeen.
The cable car line, which spans 3 kilometers and includes three stations Hay Al Ward, Al Raya Mountain Peak, and Muttrah Port is designed to offer panoramic views of the historic Muttrah district. The project is being developed in collaboration with the Swiss company Bartholet, known for its expertise in cable transport systems.
Once operational, the Muttrah Teleferik is projected to attract 4 million passengers annually, enhancing Oman’s tourism offerings and contributing to the goals of Oman Vision 2040. The system will feature 18 cabins, each with a capacity of 8 passengers, providing both locals and tourists with a scenic and efficient mode of transport.
Muttrah Cable Car is set to become a landmark attraction and a symbol of Oman’s modern development blended with cultural heritage.
