Muscat: The Board of Directors of the Siraj Endowment Foundation for Education convened its third statutory meeting for the year 2025 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation on Sunday. The session was chaired by Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrooqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, who serves as the Chairperson of the Foundation's Board of Directors.
During its deliberations, the Board undertook a comprehensive review of the most significant accomplishments achieved over the preceding period. It further engaged in discussions concerning the items enumerated on its agenda and examined the latest progress reports on the Foundation's strategic projects and its future initiatives, all of which are directed towards reinforcing sustainable support for the higher education sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
The Board also considered the master plan for the development of the Foundation's substantial landholding, a 32,500-square-metr plot located in the Al Khuwair area in the Wilayat of Bousher. The plan envisions a series of strategic investment projects expressly designed to cultivate the endowment's financial resources and ensure its long-term sustainability.
Furthermore, the Board was briefed on the pilot launch of the Siraj Foundation's dedicated contribution portals and their corresponding electronic control dashboard. A proposed initiative aimed at bolstering endowment-based educational projects was also presented for the Board's consideration.
In addition, the Board deliberated upon a proposal for a synergistic marketing and charitable initiative. This endeavour is intended to amplify public awareness of the Foundation's noble mission and to deeply embed the principles of philanthropic giving and community partnership within society.
The meeting was brought to a close with a review of emergent operational matters. The Board unanimously affirmed the critical importance of these initiatives in advancing the core mission of the Siraj Foundation, solidifying its pivotal role in enabling the higher education sector, and fostering profound community participation in the collective endeavour to build a sustainable and prosperous educational future.
