Muscat: In a ceremony held today at Al Barakah Palace, Sayyid Ya'arub bin Qahtan Al Busaidi was sworn in as the new Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Islamic Republic of Iran, taking the oath of office before His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
This appointment follows a recent Royal Decree issued by His Majesty. The decree transfers the former Ambassador, Ibrahim bin Ahmed bin Mohammed al Muaini, to the General Diwan of the Foreign Ministry, and formally designates Sayyid Ya'arub bin Qahtan Al Busaidi to the key diplomatic post in Iran.
Sayyid Ya'arub bin Qahtan Al Busaidi’s appointment is viewed as a significant move to strengthen diplomatic relations between Oman and Iran. In his new capacity, he is expected to foster deeper cooperation and mutual understanding between the two nations, building upon existing ties and exploring new avenues for bilateral collaboration.
It is relevant to note that Sayyid Ya'arub bin Qahtan Al Busaidi brings significant experience to the role, having previously served as an Adviser at the Private Office with the rank of Minister, an appointment made under Royal Decree No. 7/2025, issued on January 1, 2025.
