Industry leaders address Oman's evolving energy landscape

Muscat: Oman's energy transformation agenda took center stage as the fourth Oman Electricity and Energy Conference 2025 inaugurated on Monday under the theme "Accelerating Oman's Energy Transition."

The three-day conference, hosted at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), brings together international experts and industry leaders to address Oman's evolving energy landscape.

Dr. Said bin Hamad Al Rubaie, Vice Chancellor of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, inaugurated the conference, highlighting its critical timing as Oman intensifies focus on its energy sector, particularly clean energy development. "This gathering represents a strategic platform for knowledge transfer and technological advancement, connecting Omani industrial companies with global investors and specialists," Al Rubaie stated.

Conference deliberations are addressing fundamental strategic priorities within Oman's energy sector, including electricity market optimisation, asset management, grid modernisation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy integration, with specific attention to local implementation challenges.

The opening day featured comprehensive analysis of Oman's electricity market evolution, while subsequent sessions will examine asset management optimisation and operational efficiency enhancement. The final day will concentrate on sustainable energy solutions, storage technologies and renewable energy applications, complemented by specialised training courses across three core domains: future energy systems, smart grid infrastructure and high-voltage transmission innovations.

A concurrent technical exhibition showcases cutting-edge solutions and innovations from leading international companies across electricity and energy sectors. The conference has attracted substantial global participation, with over 2,000 attendees, 750 delegates, and 50 expert speakers representing more than thirty countries.
