Oman Challenge Programme to develop leadership skills in students

Jabal Akhdar: The Directorate General of Scouts and Guides, in cooperation with the Oman Challenge Foundation, is implementing the Oman "Gawhar" (Essence) Challenge Programme.

The programme involves female students from the Al Dakhiliyah and Muscat Governorates as part of efforts aimed at empowering students, developing their leadership skills, self-reliance, and community service.

The second phase of the programme is underway, involving 20 female students and supervisors from the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate education directorate from 7-9 October 2025. The third phase will host 20 female students and supervisors from the Muscat Governorate education directorate from 21-23 October. Both phases are being held in the Wilayat of Jabal Akhdhar.

The programme aims to boost the students' self-confidence, develop their ability to face various challenges, enhance leadership skills, foster responsibility, and encourage teamwork. It focuses on instilling the values of generosity and community service through practical and interactive activities that combine learning with real-life experience.

The activities include training workshops and diverse field activities that simulate life situations requiring critical thinking and appropriate decision-making skills, in addition to discussion panels that encourage creativity and effective communication.

The "Gawhar/Essence" programme is one of the pioneering initiatives of the Oman Challenge Foundation, which seeks, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, to prepare a confident generation capable of serving its nation and community and moving forward in the path of sustainable development.
