Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Alexander Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus have emphasized the importance of developing cooperation in the fields of education and culture to deepen bilateral relations and bring the peoples of the two countries closer. They noted that the joint industrial cooperation projects currently under development will positively impact the growth of bilateral economic relations.
This was stated in a joint communiqué issued on the occasion of the state visit made by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Republic of Belarus on 6-7 October 2025. The full text of the communiqué reads as follows:
“At the invitation of President Alexander Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik paid a state visit to the Republic of Belarus.
In an atmosphere of trust, friendship, and mutual understanding, the two leaders expressed their determination to work together to enhance and develop cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus, and discussed some international and regional issues of common interest.
The two leaders discussed the progress made in implementing the agreements reached during the high-level mutual visits in 2024 and 2025 in the fields of food security, agriculture, industry, logistics, healthcare, tourism and culture.
Both sides appreciated the efforts of all relevant entities to increase bilateral trade and expand the scope of supplying Belarusian food products, industrial machinery, pharmaceuticals, veterinary medicines, and other goods to Oman, as well as Omani products of interest to Belarus.
The two leaders welcomed the bilateral efforts to implement joint projects in the field of infant formula and dairy products, as well as the assembly of machinery in the Sultanate of Oman.
His Majesty the Sultan and the President of Belarus agreed that the joint industrial cooperation projects currently under development will positively impact the growth of bilateral economic relations, given the logistical potential of Oman and the benefits the country gains from infrastructure modernization.
They affirmed their readiness to expand investment cooperation between the two countries in agriculture, the information technology sector, furniture, and pulp and paper production.
The two sides lauded the signing of an agreement to establish a Joint Committee for Cooperation and Investment in May 2025 and expressed their interest in launching it in the near future to coordinate joint work between Omani and Belarusian entities in implementing bilateral agreements.
The two leaders emphasized the importance of the direct flight program on the Minsk-Salalah-Minsk route, launched in February 2025, and expressed the determination of both countries to work together to increase mutual tourist flows.
They also underlined the importance of developing cooperation in education and culture to deepen bilateral relations and bring the peoples of the two countries closer.
Furthermore, they emphasized the importance of developing direct communication between business sectors, mutual participation in exhibitions and markets, organizing national exhibitions in Oman and Belarus, and cultural exchange. In this regard, they welcomed the signing of the mutual visa waiver agreement.
The two leaders noted the importance of establishing a solid legal foundation to continue developing Omani-Belarusian relations in all fields and welcomed the signing of bilateral documents on the sidelines of the visit.
They agreed that the governments of the two countries, along with relevant ministries and organizations, would develop and implement the necessary practical programs and action plans in accordance with the objectives and principles of this joint communiqué.
The two sides affirmed their shared stances on major global and regional issues, stressed the necessity of compliance with the United Nations Charter and international law, and expressed their readiness for close cooperation within international organizations and to make joint efforts to promote a multipolar, just, and equitable international political and economic system. They also condemned the use of coercive measures and unilateral sanctions.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him and invited the President of the Republic of Belarus to visit the Sultanate of Oman.”
