Singapore: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Public Prosecution, participated in the 30th annual conference of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP), held in the Republic of Singapore.

During the conference, Oman and Canada both signed a declaration of commitment to the IAP's standards for professional responsibility and its statement on the essential duties and rights of prosecutors.

Bilateral meetings were also held between Oman's Public Prosecutor and prosecutors from the Swiss Confederation, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Republic of Singapore. These meetings aimed to explore ways to enhance cooperation, exchange expertise, and share best practices to improve performance and capabilities in the field of criminal justice.

The conference addressed the challenges posed by the rise of modern forms of crime that exploit technology, particularly transnational offenses such as cybercrime, human trafficking, and illegal immigration. It also discussed the use of technology and artificial intelligence in criminal investigations, as well as the collection and presentation of digital evidence in court.

Participants at the conference emphasized the importance of international cooperation, exchanging expertise, and sharing best practices to combat organized crime and develop more effective mechanisms to counter it.
