People in Oman watch lunar eclipse in awe

Muscat: People gathered in large numbers outside their houses or on building tops to witness the total Lunar Eclipse on Sunday.

The penumbral eclipse started at 7:28 pm Muscat time followed by the partial eclipse at 8:27 pm, leading up to the moment when the moon fully entered Earth's shadow at 9:31 pm.

A total lunar eclipse will draw the Moon in a deep crimson glow for almost an hour. So this is also known as the Red Blood Moon.

Solar eclipses should not be seen with open eyes. On the contrary, you can see a lunar eclipse with your naked eyes without any special equipment.

To make this day special, astronomers have set up telescopes and big screens so that those who are interested in astronomy can watch this event.
