Sultan Qaboos Road infrastructure repair work reaches 99% completion

Al Musanna: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology continues to implement the project to repair damages caused to Sultan Qaboos Road due to the monsoon weather conditions in the South Al Batinah and North Al Batinah governorates. This effort is part of the ministry's ongoing work to rehabilitate the road network and strengthen infrastructure.

Mahmoud Khalfan Al Wahaibi, a civil engineer at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, explained that the project includes repairing damaged pavement layers and constructing several underpasses to facilitate vehicle movement. He pointed out that the most notable of these is the underpass currently under construction in Al Maladda area in the Wilayat of Al Musanna. Once opened, it will improve traffic flow on both sides of Sultan Qaboos Road and boost economic and social activity in the region, enhancing the road’s infrastructure efficiency and reducing the impact of future weather conditions, he affirmed.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), he said that the total cost of the project amounts to OMR23.6 million, noting that the completion rate for the Sultan Qaboos Road repair project has reached 99%.
