Haima: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, represented by the Roads Department in Al Wusta Governorate, has intensified efforts to enhance the readiness of the road network connecting the governorate with Dhofar.
This initiative aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and road user safety during the Khareef Dhofar (monsoon season).
Eng. Bakheet Salim Al Awaid, Director of the Roads Department in Al Wusta Governorate, stated that since early June, the department has been implementing a comprehensive field plan in collaboration with maintenance companies to improve road efficiency and accommodate increased vehicle traffic during Khareef season.
In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), he explained that the plan includes deploying 11 specialized vehicles to remove dust and sand accumulations from various road networks across the governorate. Additionally, technical teams and emergency equipment have been stationed to operate around the clock, addressing any sudden road disruptions.
