Omani-European Cooperation Forum to kick off on Tuesday

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman will host the Omani-European Cooperation Forum on Energy and Water on Tuesday, bringing together a select group of experts, investors, and decision-makers from both sides.

The two-day forum is organised in partnership with the European Union Delegation to Oman, Nama Group, and the EU-GCC Cooperation Project for Green Transition.

The forum aims to achieve several key objectives, including strengthening the partnership between Oman and the European Union in renewable energy and water, as well as exchanging best practices and experiences in environmental policies. Additionally, it seeks to attract European investments in green infrastructure projects in Oman.

The forum’s agenda will feature several discussion sessions covering multiple themes, such as smart grids, energy storage, digital technologies in utilities, water efficiency improvement, and green financing mechanisms. Successful European experiences and innovative models in energy and water will also be highlighted.

The forum is expected to contribute to shaping a joint roadmap for sustainable cooperation between Oman and the European Union, enhancing public-private partnership opportunities, and creating an attractive investment environment for energy and water projects.

It is worth mentioning that the forum marks a pivotal milestone in the ongoing cooperation between the two sides, reflecting their commitment to transforming environmental challenges into developmental opportunities that serve future generations and bolster the region’s environmental and economic security.
