Muscat: Her Highness Sayyida Miyan bint Shihab Al Said, Chairperson of the Omani Association for Design, has been honoured with the award of 2025 Arab Woman of the year in the Social Impact category during a ceremony held in London, organised by the London Arabia Foundation.
The London Arabia Foundation has been recognising Arab women’s achievements since 2015, promoting international relations, social responsibility, educational programs, and research.
This prestigious award acknowledges Her Highness’s contributions to community development, social innovation, and youth empowerment initiatives.
In a statement, Her Highness Sayyida Miyan expressed her gratitude, saying:
"I am honoured to receive this award, which I consider a recognition of Omani women and their vital role in serving society and advancing development."
She further emphasised the importance of social impact, stating: “Social impact, as we believe, is a steadfast commitment to finding practical solutions that create tangible change in people’s lives and strengthen social cohesion through meaningful and sustainable initiatives. Through various projects, we have worked to empower young national talents and provide an environment that fosters creativity and responsibility."
The event was attended by Nasrat Ghani, Deputy Speaker of the UK House of Commons, along with Arab ambassadors accredited to the United Kingdom.
