Oman, Brunei Darussalam sign MoU in media field

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman and Brunei Darussalam on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the media field.

The MoU was signed at the general Diwan of the Ministry of Information in Muscat.

The MoU includes provisions for the exchange of radio, television, and news materials and programmes, sharing expertise in various media fields, training, and exchange visits.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Sultanate of Oman by Dr. Abdullah Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information, and on behalf of Brunei Darussalam by Yang Berhormat Pehin Dato Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence of Brunei Darussalam.

The visiting minister toured the Digital Studios Complex at the Ministry of Information. During his tour, he was briefed on the media and news services provided by the Ministry. He also observed the advanced tools and cutting-edge technical programmes that meet the requirements of modern media work.

In a press statement, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence of Brunei Darussalam lauded the advanced technologies and modern digital means that reflect the comprehensive media development in the Sultanate of Oman. This advancement, he affirmed, is a qualitative leap in producing media content that aligns with the highest global standards.

He expressed his hope that the MoU signed today between the two sides would further enhance joint cooperation in media, training, and the exchange of expertise.
