OSHRM unveils 8th annual conference: A new roadmap for HR leadership in Oman

Muscat: The Omani Society for Human Resource Management (OSHRM) held a press conference on Monday to announce the details of its 8th Annual Conference, set to take place from April 14 to 16, 2025, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This year’s theme, “Leadership in Open Space,” reflects OSHRM’s forward-thinking vision for redefining leadership and human capital development in the Sultanate. The 2025 conference  editon will address pressing issues that align with emerging global trends in the HR field. Among the key focus areas are the economics of sustainability and social responsibility, psychological safety and safe workplace environments, organisational culture transformation, the integration of technology and social media into HR practices, the economic benefits of diversity and inclusion, and leadership development in the private sector.

Further topics include HR analytics, agile learning strategies, building resilient teams, enhancing employee experience, career coaching, and the creation of productive work environments that support institutional performance and innovation.

In his remarks, Dr. Ghalib bin Saif Al Hosni, Chairperson of OSHRM, stated that the conference serves as a vital platform for reshaping the concept of modern leadership. “Today’s leadership goes beyond operational management. It is a catalyst for innovation, a model for continuous development, and a tool for generating real, measurable impact both within organisations and across society,” he said.

He emphasised that the contemporary leader is a driver of transformation, capable of guiding teams through rapid changes in labor markets shaped by evolving customer expectations, technological disruptions, and global economic shifts. Dr. Al Hosni highlighted the importance of adopting inclusive and adaptable leadership models that reflect industrial trends, environmental considerations, and national policy priorities—models that ultimately support sustainable growth and strengthen organisational resilience.

Faisal Al Siyabi, Chief Executive Officer of OSHRM, affirmed the Society’s commitment to embedding professional excellence and innovation across workplace environments in Oman. He noted that the 8th edition of the annual conference—held under the banner of “Driving Innovative Sustainability”—represents a pivotal step in OSHRM’s ongoing efforts to reshape the HR sector through dynamic, knowledge-driven platforms. “We are not only focused on improving HR outputs,” Al Siyabi said, “but also on building future-ready systems of work founded on innovation, collaboration, and visionary leadership. Through this conference, we connect local talent with international expertise to generate solutions rooted in global insight but tailored to Omani realities.”

He confirmed that the conference will feature a lineup of high-profile speakers from Oman and abroad, each bringing inspiring experiences and deep expertise in human capital and organisational development. The program aims to facilitate meaningful dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the presentation of cutting-edge strategies relevant to the evolving business landscape.

This year’s edition places strong emphasis on forecasting the future of leadership in the context of rapidly changing work environments. Sessions will explore how strategic leadership plays a vital role in improving institutional performance, enabling adaptability, and advancing innovative, sustainable outcomes in a globally connected world.

As part of the event, OSHRM also announced the launch of an international exhibition running alongside the conference. The exhibition will showcase the latest technologies and solutions in HR management, with participation from local and global companies. It will serve as a strategic platform for sponsorship and partnership development, offering exhibitors exclusive visibility and benefits, including complimentary passes for staff depending on sponsorship level.

Since its establishment, OSHRM has hosted seven successful annual conferences, each attracting more than 900 participants. These events have featured international collaborations, the sharing of best practices, and partnerships with over 20 local organizations. In addition to its flagship conferences in Muscat, OSHRM has held seven specialized forums in Salalah and Sohar, reinforcing its national leadership in professional development and HR excellence.
