Audio guide service launched at the National Museum

Muscat: As part of the National Museum's efforts to provide an interactive and unique Museum experience for its visitors, the Museum today launched the "Audio Guide" service.

This service seeks to enrich visitors' experience by providing a detailed historical explanation of the museum’s Galleries and selected artefacts while touring the museum.

The service includes 395 items and is available in Arabic and English. It also supports two tour options: self-guided tours or group tours.

The "Audio Guide" service is featured by options designed specifically for visitors with disabilities, such as audio descriptions for the visually impaired, and sign language for the deaf-mute Additionally. The device shows audio and visual instructions to facilitate its use, along with an interactive map to help visitors familiarize themselves with the Galleries and most significant artefacts.

The launch of this service aligns with the goals of Oman Vision 2040 that aspires to enhance digital transformation, as well as to enrich visitors' experience by adding cognitive and cultural dimensions that expand their understanding of the exhibits and encourage greater interaction with them.

Last December, the National Museum launched the "Virtual Tour" service on its official website, which offers visitors the opportunity to explore the museum's Galleries and learn about the rare artefacts that tell the stories of Oman through the ages, as if they were at the heart of the museum.
