Muscat: The Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) participated in the prestigious QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2024, taking place from November 5-8, 2024, in Macao SAR, China. Representing the college is a distinguished delegation consisting of Ms Aisha Al Kharusi, Deputy Executive Chairperson; Prof Rami Oweis, Vice Chairman for Institutional Excellence and Advancement; Dr Ahmed Al Mataani, Associate Dean for General Education and General Foundation (CEAP); and Ms Arwa Alhinai, Deputy Head of the Department of General Education and Director of Communication.
The QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2024 marked its 20th anniversary, reinforcing its reputation as the leading platform for innovation and collaboration in higher education in the region. Over the past two decades, the summit brought together thousands of university leaders and government representatives from across Asia Pacific, promoting thought leadership and driving meaningful change. This year's event, which attracted over 2,000 attendees, featured a dynamic program focused on “Shifting Landscapes, Collaborative Solutions: Pioneering Innovation in Asia Pacific Higher Education.” Participants had the opportunity to engage in industry-leading panel discussions, establish valuable partnerships, and delve into the potential of AI, while also building lifelong learning ecosystems and navigating the ever-changing landscape of higher education.
Among the key highlights of MCBS's involvement at the summit was Ms. Aisha Al Kharusi's role as the moderator in a key panel titled “The Virtual Exchange: Collaborative Research Without Borders.” The session brought together experts and thought leaders from various esteemed institutions to discuss how virtual exchange platforms can revolutionize collaborative research in higher education. The panellists explored the growing potential of these borderless exchange platforms to encourage international partnerships, overcome geographical barriers, and transform academic research practices in the Asia Pacific region. Their discussions emphasized that such platforms lead to richer research experiences and more impactful outcomes for the academic community.
