Muscat: Aviation industry serves one of the main factors supporting economic and social development in the Sultanate of Oman. It enhances travel, tourism and trade and improves connectivity with the outside world.
The Civil Aviation Authority “CAA” has endorsed a general policy to enhance safety and security, espouse the best environmental practices and keep pace with the rapid global developments in this sector.
CAA is pressing ahead with steps to develop the sector’s infrastructure, attract investments and upgrade the efficiency of services.
The vision of the CAA in the Sultanate of Oman is based on expanding the scopes of the civil aviation sector and supporting sustainable growth.
The general policy also seeks to establish a comprehensive framework that defines the government’s approach and draws a roadmap for devising a National Aviation Strategy in line with Oman Vision 2040 and related national strategies.
The aviation sector policy covers 7 main areas, namely “Aviation safety and security”, “air transport”, “Infrastructure development”, “Economic regulation”, “Passenger rights protection”, “Protecting the Omani airspace” and “Conservation of the environment”.
