Doha: The Sultanate of Oman participated in the ministerial meetings of the GCC trade cooperation committee (67th meeting), the GCC industrial cooperation committee (53rd meeting) and the ministerial committee for standardization affairs. It also took part in the consultative meeting between ministers of commerce and industry and heads of GCC chambers of commerce.
Oman’s delegation in the meeting, held in Doha, was headed by Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.
The GCC ministers of commerce and industry also celebrated the signing of a free trade agreement with New Zealand.
On the sidelines of the ministerial meetings, Al Yousef met with the Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Minister of Commerce and Industry of the State of Qatar and the minister of industry and commerce of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
In conjunction with the meeting of GCC ministers of commerce and industry, 30 factories and 12 inventors were felicitated. The following Omani inventors were among those who received the felicitations: Sulaiman Khamis Al Khawaldi and Shaima Tahir al Saadi.
