The T Quiz League took a dramatic turn as ISWK Cambridge faced Indian School Sohar in the first elimination game of the second chance bracket. In this nail-biting match, the stakes were higher than ever—win and move on, or lose and be eliminated from the competition.
The ISWK Cambridge team was represented by Manal, Pratham, and Samrudh, coached by Ms. Poonam Kumari, while Indian School Sohar fielded Agnesh, Samanvi, and Pratyush, under the guidance of Ms. Aarti Bokil. Both teams brought their competitive spirit to the fore, knowing that one misstep could mean the end of their T Quiz League journey.
Thought-Provoking Questions Across a Range of Topics
The match kept the audience on the edge of their seats with questions that tested a wide range of knowledge. One question asked the teams to identify an event in Dubai where two young Omani architects, Alya and Rihab, designed a building inspired by a frankincense tree. The answer: "Expo 2020."
In the field of science, the teams had to recall the original name Michael Faraday gave to the first electric generator he invented. The answer: "The Faraday Disk."
Another intriguing question linked to history asked: "Spain no longer uses this currency, but the Philippines still does, due to its Spanish heritage." The answer: "Peso."
Strategic Play in the Testing Times Round
The Testing Times round saw teams battling strategically with categories like "Movie Plots," "Breakfast of Champions," "Brand Logos," and "Spending Around the World." Both teams made calculated choices, aiming to maximize points while putting their opponents on edge.
