Al Mazyouna Hospital worth OMR15.4 in Dhofar inaugurated

Muscat: The Ministry of Health today celebrated the inauguration of Al Mazyouna Hospital in Dhofar Governorate to the tune of OMR15.4 million.

The project aims to provide specialised healthcare institutions in various governorates.

The inauguration ceremony was held under the patronage of His HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, with the presence of Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, as well the Ministry’s Undersecretaries and a number of high ranking officials.

This project, which covers a built-up area of 13,649 square meters was directly supervised by the Ministry of Health.

The main building of Al Mazyouna Hospital includes clinics for general medicine, internal medicine, dentistry, pediatrics, surgery, otolaryngology (ENT), and ophthalmology, in addition to a clinic for the expanded immunization programme and gynecology and obstetrics clinics.

The Hospital has a capacity of 50 beds for admission distributed across various inpatient wards including male and female internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and surgery, as well as adults and neonatal critical care units. The facility also has an emergency and accident unit, a dialysis unit, a delivery room, and an operating theater.

The building includes several clinics and departments such as diagnostic services, including a radiology department that will offer both CT scans and conventional X-rays, in addition to a medical biomedical engineering workshop, a central sterilization unit, a medical warehouse, a general store, and other supportive services.

Al Mazyouna Hospital project is part of the Ministry of Health's efforts to develop the healthcare system in the Sultanate of Oman and enhance its efficiency in line with population growth and the evolving demands for healthcare services across the country.

Dr. Ali Abdullah Al Muqbali, Director General of Health Services in Dhofar, emphasized that the hospital will provide primary and specialized healthcare services to the people living in the governorate, marking a significant shift in healthcare quality at the wilayat level.

Eng. Yusuf Ya'qub Amboali, Advisor to the Minister of Health for Engineering Affairs, explained that the opening of Al Mazyouna Hospital is part of the Ministry of Health's strategy to enhance healthcare infrastructure and provide specialized and exceptional medical services close to local communities. This initiative aims to deliver the best healthcare services according to global standards to all citizens and residents of the Sultanate of Oman.

He also presented the components of the project noting that several important aspects were considered in setting the modern specifications for the construction of Al Mazyouna Hospital, in line with advanced global standards which reflects the Ministry's awareness of the significance of providing a comprehensive and comfortable healthcare environment for all.

At the end of the ceremony, the patron of the event and attendees toured the various departments of the hospital.
