Muscat Municipality raids restaurants, destroys stale food

Muscat: Muscat Municipality has issued 45 violations, closes 4 shops, and destroys 70 kgs of unfit food from restaurant and cafes in Muscat Governorate.

Muscat Municipality said: “In continuation of its efforts in the health control sector of restaurants and cafes, the General Directorate of Health Affairs in ⁧‫Muscat Municipality ‬⁩ in cooperation with the municipalities of Muscat Governorate in each of Seeb, Bousher and Muttrah, carried out a health inspection campaign that lasted for five days and targeted 247 restaurants and cafes.

This resulted in issuing of 45 violations, the closure of 4 shops, the destruction of 70 kg of unfit food and 101 other damages.

Muscat Municipality is intensifying its monitoring and inspection campaigns across restaurants, cafes, markets, and shops to ensure compliance with health regulations this includes proper food storage and ensuring that employees follow approved health measures to protect public health.
