Muscat: As a safety precaution following the shooting incident that occurred in the vicinity of a mosque in Wadi Al Kabir on Monday, July 15, 2024, the U.S. Embassy in Muscat has cancelled visa appointments at the embassy on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
U.S. Embassy in Muscat said in a statement :"Dear Applicants, Visa appointments at the U.S. Embassy are cancelled today due to safety precautions following the shooting at Wadi Al Kabir. Normal operations may resume tomorrow, July 16th."
"All visa appointments scheduled for Tuesday, July 16th will be rescheduled. Please check your email for this change," the statement added.
The police said about the incident previously that the Royal Oman Police dealt with a shooting incident in the vicinity of a mosque in the Wadi Al Kabir area , which resulted in the death of four people and the injury of a number of others, according to preliminary information. All security measures and procedures have been taken to deal with the situation. The procedures for gathering evidence and investigation are being completed.
