State Council’s Office discusses draft law on documentation, arbitration in disputes

Muscat: The State Council Office on Wednesday held a meeting during which it discussed its Legal Committee’s proposal on the “Draft law on documentation” and a proposal on amending some provisions of the “Law on Arbitration in Civil and Commercial Disputes”.

The discussion took place as part of the 4th meeting of the State Council’s first convening during the 8th Term. The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Abdulmalik Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council.

The members of the State Council’s Office discussed the Economic and Financial Committee’s proposal on “the framework for developing the government’s performance management system and criteria for placement in leadership positions”. The meeting also looked into a proposal on “the role of plant extracts in enhancing the local economy”.

The meeting reviewed the Council of Ministers’ reply to observations and views made by the State Council and the Shura Council about the "Draft of State Budget 2024".

The members elaborated on two studies conducted by the State Council: One titled “Legislative and regulatory determinants for e-commerce” and the other titled “Arts and their role in supporting the national economy.”
