Dibba: The Dibba Port Development Project in the Wilayat of Dibba is one of the important projects under execution by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, in Musandam Governorate.
The project is aimed at diversification of economy and for creating an environment attractive to investments for development of fisheries sector.
Ahmed bin Ali Al Shahi, director of the fishing port in the wilayat of Dibba, said that the construction works of the project of Dibba Fishing Port are progressing well and the completion percentage amounted to nearly 75 percent.
The project is expected to be complete within two months and is expected to be fully operational during the first quarter of 2025, he added. He also pointed out to the completion of concrete works and that the port received ships from several neighbouring countries.
He said that the project includes four sector which are the fishing sector, tourism sector, the sea transport services sector and trade sector. The cost of the project is OMR 40 million, he added. The project includes two wave breakers. The length of the main wave breaker is 1,550 metres and the secondary one is 500 metres with a dock of 8 metres in depth, an area for boat anchor is 130 metres in length among other facilities and services, he said.
The project has allocated an area of 5,000 sq. metres for hotels, restaurants, tourism services and facilities for transport sector and docks for each sector, internal road works , electricity and lighting works, water network and rainwater drainage works among other services and works.
