Bar Zaman Indian schools basketball championship begins

Muscat: The Barzman Basketball Championship for Indian schools, organised by the Ministry of Education, represented by the Omani School Sports Association, in cooperation with the International Food and Beverage Company (Bar Zaman brand), kicked off on Tuesday evening.

Six teams from Indian schools in Muscat Governorate are taking part in the competition.

The championship will continue until 21 May with the participation of 60 students under the age of 17 in the sub-hall of the Sultan Qaboos Complex in Bausher.

The tournament started with six matches. In the first match, Indian School Muscat won over Indian School Al Ghubrah by 16-10. In the second match, Indian School Darsait won over Indian School Al-Wadi Al-Kabir by 26-17 and in the third match, Indian School Al-Ghubrah won over the Indian School Maabilah by 26-17.

In the fourth match, Indian School Darsait won over Indian School Bawshar by 38-11 and in the fifth match, Indian School Muscat won over Indian School Maabila by 27-15, and in the sixth match, Indian School Al-Wadi Al-Kabir defeated Indian School Bawshar by 24-13.

Three matches will be held on Thursday. In the first match, Indian School Muscat will clash with Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir, in the second match, Indian School Al Ghubra will meet Indian School Darsait and in the third match, the two losing teams will play against each other for the third and the fourth place.

On Friday evening, the two winning teams will play the final match to determine the winner.
