People asked to donate platelets in Oman

Muscat: The Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS), has made an urgent appeal to people with A (+ve), B (+ve), and O (+ve) blood types to donate platelets at the Central Blood Bank in Baushar.

DBBS said in a statement: "In light of the critical demand for platelets currently, we strongly encourage individuals to actively participate in platelet donation at the Central Blood Bank in Baushar. There is a significant need for platelet transfusions for patients with blood types A+, B+, and O+."

The Ramadan blood donation hours at the Central Blood Bank in Baushar are from Sunday to Thursday, from 8 am to 12:30 pm in the morning period and in the evening period from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm daily. The last moment for platelet donations is 10:30 pm, "DBBS added.
