Al Dhahirah Tourism Festival attracts over 47,000 visitors

Muscat: Within six days of commencement, Al Dhahirah Tourism Festival has attracted more than 47,000 visitors.

The activities of the Al Dhahirah Tourism Festival continue with more than 47,000 visitors since its launch since February 15, 204. The festival receives a wide turnout and heavy attendance from all segments of society from Al Dhahirah Governorate and various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to visitors from residents and neighbouring countries.

 His Excellency Najib bin Ali Al-Rawas, Governor of Al Dhahirah, said: “The festival varies in its daily programmes while embodying the Omani identity and originality through various activities such as the heritage village and cultural theatres, in addition to the participating popular bands that reflect the popular artistic and cultural heritage.”

 His Excellency added: “The festival goes beyond being of a touristic nature. There are many other goals that the people of the governorate hope to benefit from. There are more than 400 direct benefits for owners of small and medium enterprises, productive families, job seekers, and rural women. In addition to being an opportunity for young people to hone their artistic, technical and theatrical skills and gain experience in order to rely on them as owners of projects and institutions capable of moving forward in future activities."

 Al-Rawas explained that the festival contributes to reviving the overall commercial activity in the governorate for individuals and institutions.

 The festival programme will continue until March 6, 2024, is full of events and activities such as folk arts, horse show segments, heritage village activities, the Smurfs village, and carnival shows. In addition to circus shows, various theatrical acts for adults and children, laser shows, and daily competitions. In addition to children's toys and a consumer exhibition, which includes many corners.

 It is worth noting that the morning period of the festival (from 10 am until 1 pm ) is dedicated for women and school students to be an enriching experience for students through learning about the components of the festival, popular heritage, and craft works.
