Muscat: Certain activities of the Muscat Nights Festival scheduled for Friday, January 27, 2023, have been temporarily suspended due to the uncertain weather conditions that most of the Sultanate of Oman’s governorates are witnessing.
Based on the warnings issued by the Directorate General of Meteorology about the instability of weather and in the interest of everyone's safety. Muscat Municipality announces the temporary cessation of Muscat Nights activities in the following locations ( Naseem Park, Qurum Natural Park and Oman Convention and Exhibition Center) on 27 January 2023, while the indoor activities at Oman Automobile Association remain active as per schedule.
The municipality added that all activities will resume tomorrow, January 28,2023 , if the weather stabilizes. The authority urged everyone to take caution and follow the instructions issued by the competent authorities.
The Sultanate of Oman is witnessing rainfall of varying intensity from Tuesday, January 24, 2023 which is expected to continue till Saturday January 28, 2023. Governorates of Musandam, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah and Muscat are expected to witness thunderstorms accompanied by hail. The influence may gradually extend to the Governorates of North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar.
