Muscat: Omantel, the Sultanate’s leading provider of integrated telecommunication services, and Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, have joined hands for a comprehensive telecommunications network upgrade for Bank Muscat branches across the Sultanate and migration of existing offsite ATMs to MPLS (Multiple Protocol Label Switching) network.
The project entails upgrading the existing telecommunications system for all Bank Muscat locations, including 152 branches as well as nearly 170 offsite ATMs located across the country.
Commenting on the benefits of the upgrade, Todd Dick, Omantel VP of Corporate Business, said: “The partnership with Bank Muscat highlights our deep experience in delivering end-to-end solutions for clients in the financial services sector, who require the very highest levels of data security, high data transfer speeds and network reliability.
“Deploying our technical experience and expertise on this project means that Bank Muscat will be able to conduct instant real-time monitoring and maintenance for their nationwide branches and ATM networks to ensure uninterrupted services, while branch staff and systems are securely connected via the MPLS network, providing seamless and secure intranet, extranet, and data capabilities,” he added.
The project scope for the Bank Muscat upgrade calls for a nationwide upgrade to MPLS across the bank’s branch and ATM network, supported by a 24/7 service level agreement to provide ongoing monitoring of system performance and maintenance.
